Messe Friedrichshafen has first been established on the premises of a school campus back in 1950. It changed locations and grew in size over the years and is currently located around 4 km from Friedrichshafen historical center, near the airport. The new fairground was built in 2002 and features 12 halls that cover 85,000 sq meters of exhibition space, it has additional 12,000 sq meters of open air exhibition ground and a multipurpose foyer. The fairground hosts between 15 and 17 international events every year and welcomes 6,000 exhibitors and 600,000 visitors. With a turnover of around 35 million euro it is certainly the economic pillar for Friedrichshafen and its surroundings.
How to get there:
Messe Friedrichshafen is located on the German shore of Lake Constance and can easily be reached by car from Munich and Stuttgart in Germany, through Bregenz in Austria and from Zurich in Switzerland. For all travelers coming from Switzerland it is recommended that they leave their vehicles in Konstanz and use the ferry service to Friedrichshafen
By Public transport
The InterRegioExpress and RegionalExpress train lines connect Friedrichshafen with the rest of Germany. Ferry service is available to/from Konstanz in Switzerland. Free shuttle services to the nearby towns are provided during the international exhibitions.
Bodensee Airport Friedrichshafen is only 3.3 km from the Fairground and handles international flights of Lufhansa, Turkish Airlines and British Airways.
