Your event will take place!
“We can start work again and give our exhibitors and customers planning security: Your event will take place.”
The above is not wishful thinking, it is the official statement of Martin Buhl-Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe. The company is planning to hold around 100 events by the end of 2020 after a few months of COVID-19 lockdown. The Corona Protection Ordinance, approved by the Saxon State Government has made this step possible. Martin Buhl-Wagner sees the decision of organizing trade fairs again as an example of responsible acting by the Saxon state.
The Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, Markus Geisenberger, expressed his satisfaction by the approval of the hygiene concept. According to him, the people who have the best experience to provide health protection for exhibitors, visitors, customers and employees are the event organizers themselves.
The decision of the federal state will definitely have long-lasting effects. Leipziger Messe with its numerous events accounts for over 650 million euros of purchasing power and exercises a favourable effect on the local economy – hotels, restaurants, stand construction, transport.
The key element would be the number of visitors, which is the reason why Leipziger Messe along with the health department of the city of Leipzig have decided on a flexible control approach, which would provide planning security for the participants. The hygiene concept is based on three fundamental requirements:
The approved hygiene concept gives exhibitors, visitors and all participants planning security for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic and proves once again that Germany will keep and further strengthen its leading position in the trade fair industry.
