Messe Duesseldorf cancellations and postponements
Messe Duesseldorf announced an important decision last week - a list of events that have been called off after intense discussions with exhibitors, partners and associations. For the time being, the decision covers the following events:
- boot (23.01.2021 - 31.01.2021);
- tasc (19.02.2021 - 20.02.2021);
- interpack and components (25.02.2021 - 03.03.2021);
- Energy Storage Europe (16.03.2021 - 18.03.2021);
- EuroCIS (16.03.2021 - 18.03.2021);
- ProWein (19.03.2021 - 23.03.2021);
- drupa (20.04.2021 - 28.04.2021);
All, but boot Duesseldorf will be held in accordance with their ususal run cycle, while boot 2021 has been rescheduled. The new dates are 17.04.2021 - 25.04.2021.
The existing travel restrictions, the legal framework and the reported reluctancy of exhibitors to attend lead to this unfortunate act. This will of course help customers and partners cut financial loses by allowing them more time to plan for next year. However, the signals given to the industry players are far from being positive. This will now be the second consecutive edition of ProWein that is being cancelled and while a similar decision would have been easily accounted for in case the trade fair affected were of a smaller scale, the magnitude of ProWein is indicative of the state the industry has found itself into.
The long-anticipated restart of the trade fair industry is yet to be triggered. Hopefully, the pandemic situation and the action opportunities wil have developed positively by April 2021, thus allowing the kick-off of business!
