Coronavirus Protection Ordinance of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia
“With the #B-SAFE4business-village, we present concrete practical examples and strengthen the trust in us as a trade fair organiser. We are showing how it’s done. And we are saying clearly: trade fairs are possible.” - Gerald Böse, CEO of Koelnmesse GmbH
Now, let's see what this #B-SAFE4business cencept is all about. 4 key aspects lie in the core of Koelnmesse's shot at showing all event organizers "how it is done": VISIT SAFE, MEET SAFE, SHOW SAFE, STAY SAFE. The firm belief that personal contact is the centerpiece of a trade fair has lead to the development of a series of measures, all in accordance with the Coronavirus Protection Ordinance of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia and in close coordination with the Cologne authorities.
Some of the key features, which aim to provide the highest level of safety in a setting that allows businesses to grow include the superb ventilation systems and the state-of-the-art digital guidance system, which targets information to important hotspots with reminders of the hygiene rules that are in place.
In an attempt to actually show what a working concept would look like, Koelnmesse have constructed the #B-SAFE4business village in Hall 9 of the fairgrounds. The measures that were presented and tested covered the following:
Cleaning concept - an increased frequence of cleaning as well as spray and wipe-down disinfection executed by a trained, professional staff, all carried out at coordinated cleaning intervals.
Human security Radar (HSR) - the contactless free-flow system allows the safety screening of thousands of participants per hour and is in line with the distancing and low-contact security checks.
eGuard - use of the app is compulsory for every trade-fair goer. It is required to run in the background, it collects no personal information, but it allows the delivery of accurate information regarding visitor density at any point of the fairgrounds, thus notifying the visitors of areas with high density, which are to be avoided.
Hygiene Guard - the tasks of the trained hostesses and hosts include supervision of hygiene compliance regulations. Hygiene guards can also be booked at the stand itself - the measures include refilling of disinfectants, monitoring minimum distances as well as disinfecting surfaces at regular intervals.
eSlot Management - the new booking portal is used to register vehicles and individuals arriving at Koelnmesse. It provides an intelligent route guidance using NUNAV routing technology. The self-check-in-counter and the mobile app for area/gate managers helps reduce the personal contact to a minimum.
When you add the wide number of digital solutions which help facilitate the event participation of every exhibitor, it is safe to say that Koelnmesse are surely setting the trend for the rest of the leading fair organizers!
